Sometimesme times its hard to be positive when the critters ruin your hard work….hope the deer stay away for the rest of the season. I wish you could have shared some of that rain with me…still drought condition here. We did get about 2” last week after over three weeks with none. Now I’m whining too🫢

That is a great shot of Vanishing Mist, great saturated color.Moon shimmers is a lovely yellow bloom, I dont remember seeing it.

Those are beautiful blooms. Purple Passion’s Promise is really beautiful! Your bed is pretty and I am sorry about the mud, I have it too and ir rained for half the day today....the first half when I take photos so they are rainy. I am so sorry the deer are back. I like Bold Approval and Vanishing MIst very pretty Black Falcon Mist looks great with Lillian's Vapor Trail; My BFM isn't blooming yet. And I agree, Magnolias are gorgeous. Nice post, Kate. And Sherry, I wish you could have some of the rain too, but I totally understand your frustration since we were in drought most of the earlier year.

I doubt whether Purple Passion's Promise would have an edge like that.

Vanishing Mist is usually splotchy-this is the best I’ve seen it. Celebrate the blooms!!

My DH, who is not a lover of flowers, is past tired of my moans and groans about the weather. So I come here to commiserate with my fellow daylily friends. From Sherry's drought, to our deluge this spring, it's nice to have someone who understands the tribulations of both..........Sorry to hear about the deer Kate. I don't have that problem, so it's news to me that they just eat the buds. How infuriating.......I like that Moon Shimmers. A nice paler yellow with form......Mount Herman Autumn is such a pretty blend. The cooler weather and cloud cover keep it's colors almost shimmering....I've mostly given up on purple daylilies, but Vanishing Mist still rings my bell.....Friday is the first day we are scheduled to be almost rain free. I hope so. I've got plants backing up on me waiting to be processed and the 90's are coming too soon..............Maryl

Kay, I think perhaps today, Friday, we should be rain free. Of course with the sun comes the steam! It did rain during the night but blooms were OK this morning. Of course my big beds are still inaccessible as far as walking into them.

Maryl, we rent our land to ranchers so my husband is commiserating with me. His farmer friends either have not been able to plant or have replanted only to lose that as well. I think all our land is hay this year so the rain is helping the grass to grow but I hate it for the farmers, many of whom may not get to plant this spring.

Mantis, you are probably right about PPP. That is an area where I cannot get in so can’t check tags. Photos are zoomed so resolution is not the best. My husband tells me if I don’t know the names, I have too many. I concede that point as I walk away!!

You don’t know how many times I have said the exact words about the deer. I have a massive area of vinca they just walk through without stopping and I wish they would devour it.

Well I think you have reason to whine. Those dang deer are a menace. We haven't noticed much damage on the daylilies but they munched on my martagon lily buds. Bob keeps telling me its time to put out milorganite. I think we will do that today. The cornfields around us are up and growing. Maybe they will find the corn tastier.

I love the magnolia. I wish daylilies could be white like it. Purple Passion's Promise (or whatever it is) is beautiful! I also like Aerial Markings, Vanishing Mist, and Lady Dragon.

Nancy, I am surprised the deer left your lilies alone. They munched on some caladiums on the way to the daylilies and those caladiums are in a bed next to the house. They are fearless and I can walk within 10 feet of them before they run. I scattered Milorganite and the deer repellent I had left from last year. I have ordered more. Maybe the cornfields will keep them busy during your season!!!

Your purple with the toothy white edge is gorgeous and definitely not Purple Passion's Promise. That one has a thin, smooth white edge. I think it could be Child of Bethlehem, although I've never seen photos of it with so many teeth. Moon Shimmers is looking good, and the pattern is excellent on Aerial Markings. Celebrate that clean bloom on Vanishing Mist and more color than you usually get on Like a Gee Six. The color on Mount Herman Autumn really appeals to me today. I love the contrast of Black Falcon Rit. with LVT.

So sad that the deer are showing up now! I had a terrible time with them last year in Nashville and was spraying repellent every other day, I don't blame you a bit for whining about the rain, mud and deer.

Debra, I knew you would know about PPP. I had my doubts but so many like that are in that space. I looked back at my photos from last year but not sure I ever got a good photo. Thanks for confirming.

One of the problems with the deterrent is with all the rain I do have to keep it coming!

Great garden shot of all the blooms and the wide open space around you. The blooms look very good for all the rain you have gotten. Ah, the deer issue which I know all too well. I've been using Bobbex which is suppose to last through a couple of rounds of rain but no guarantee and we've had plenty of rain. I did see a video recently where someone is using Irish Spring soap cut into small chunks and spread it around.
