James Hardie Fiber Cement Siding Material Selection

last month

Requesting guidance on siding variations.

Single family home siding product: Board and Batten made of Smooth Panel and 2.5" Smooth Trim Batten
Trim:
Openings (windows, doors): 4 quarters (3/4") thick 4" wide. Should I go with 5 quarters (1")thick?
Corners: 4 quarters (3/4") thick 4" wide. Should I go with 5 quarters (1") thick and 6" wide?
Horizontal Bands (bottom horizontal trim): 4 quarters thick 4" wide. Should I go with 5 quarters thick and 6" or 8" wide? Not sure if relevant, the house is a post frame structure and the bottom skirt board is 2X8.
What is a good size block for penetrations (water spigots, gas pipes, A/C, lights, vents, etc.)? The widest trim James Hardie offers is 11.25" wide. Or should I use some other product such as SturdiMount for the various size penetrations?
There are exterior areas where panels will have to be stacked so there will be horizontal panel joint. Is Z-flashing sufficient or there has to be a horizontal band (probably same width as the vertical batten) to make a separation horizontal line?

The goal is to achieve an appearance similar to the picture attached where the trim around openings and corners is inconspicuous (think monochromatic look) and hence the hesitation with trim thickness and widths. Picture attached for reference.

Thanks in advance.
