Brand Recommendations for Solid Hardwood Flooring

I'm looking for suggestions for solid hardwood flooring brands. I'm currently looking at Chelsea Plank, which seems to be good quality. It's around $9.75 sq. ft. Are there any other comparable brands at a better pricepoint? I'm looking at Hickory or White Oak and I want texture.

Prefinished or site finished? What width planks? What sort of quantity? Slab or basement?

Engineered hardwood flooring is a quality product available in wide planks you cannot get with solid. It is available in pale European Oak you can't get in narrow solid planks. You can get flat cut because it doesn't have the open dark grain of white oak. Flat cut rustic wide planks show off attractive wood structure you don't get to see using narrow solid. 4-6mm wear layer gives as many refinishes as solid with tongue and groove. I like at least 5" plank. Right now I have a 3", 4", 6" pattern, and I like that as well.
