First daylily bloom, etc.

First the news, we got about a half a foot of rain Friday, lost power for 7 hours. We are way ahead for the year on rain, temps slightly cooler than normal.

Belle Isle Sentry has been beaten out as first the second year in a row, but should bloom soon.

Waiting In The Wings. Actually has a little height this year; it was only about 12 inches tall the previous 2 years. Still not well budded. But it is so early it will have many chances to prove itself.

My Amaryllis does so well! I also have a second clump elsewhere. They are increasing in number a lot each year. They take no maintenance at all though I will split them eventually.

Why does rain have to be all or nothing! Losing power is always a pain too.

Waiting in the Wings is a pretty first flower. Those that bloom early always have a special place in my garden no matter the bud count. I hope it improves for you.

The amaryllis are lovely. We grow a few as pot plants but they are too tender for our climate.

Isn’t first bloom exciting?!! Love the garden amaryllis, That is a lot of rain at one time. Sounds like some wind was involved as well. Losing power is never fun but 7 hours is a long time of no fun!!

Brad, Love you daylily. I also love the amaryllis. When you do split them, I would really like to have a start of it if you can spare it.

As much as I like yellow, I'm happy to see something other then that color occasionally be the first daylily to bloom. I think yours is a nice color......Love your Amaryllis. If only I had room..........We beat your rain total by 1 inch last week - but it was over 2 1/2 days. I'm not good without the power on. Makes me nervous. We have a storm about to hit us within minutes now, and as I'm listening to the rumble of thunder and watching the black sky close in on us, I surely hope we don't loose power this time............Maryl
