Terrazzo for bathroom and shower floors!?

We are in the design phase for remodeling our primary bath. We LOVE the look of a terrazzo floor, but can't tell whether it will be a great option or more trouble than it's worth! We understand it would need to be sealed a couple of times a year, but are there more considerations to keep in mind? We have the choice of 16" squares or 6x16" rectangles for the floor, and would cut down to a 3x3 or 4x4 size for the shower floor. Would love to get perspectives from people who have actually installed and lived with it - thanks!!

I had terrazzo in a house years ago, never re-sealed it. Looked gret large format tile running bond pattern.

I don't care for 16" sq. tile, but a 6x16 would be great for floor.

I prefer a 2" tile for the shower unless you have a great tile guy to cut an envelope for the slope to the drain.

There are Terrazzo-look porcelain tiles that are quite nice. I saved this one when I was doing tile research. Comes in many colors.

I renovated my bathrooms a few years ago and used 24X24 terrazzo tiles. They were sealed when installed but not since.
They have been great and I love them. The colour is quite bold and perhaps not for everyone. I would caution against using them on the shower floor as they can be slippery. I also used 24X24 Terrazzo inspired porcelain tiles in another bathroom and really like them as well.

They make solid terrazzo shower bases too.

I love the original terrazzo not tile but that is now a lost art as far as I can find. I would probably not use it for shower floor I do find it busy so less is more in this case for me. I also think the larger the tile the more real it looks grout lines even really tiny ruin the look
