Sorry folks, I did not get a response. The voicemail message of the number I used did identify as S…… Brakefield, so I assume it was correct. I texted as well, and got a read receipt on my text about an hour later. Maybe she does not respond to strangers, which would be understandable.

Ben, if you don't hear back, would you mind giving Samantha my name. Diane may have mentioned me to Sam. We've been in email contact for years, and I once sent her a book. Trish

Diane is such a wonderful contributor here, it is almost a full time job. I am hoping she is in a gardening frenzy that does not allow for posting yet. Here is hoping.

It does seem strange, I must admit. I miss her posts and hope she finds time and energy to join in again soon. Hopefully all is well.

She probably just needs a break from posting. :)

Susan, I keep thinking about her, too. I'll admit, I am a worrier. I keep hoping she'll pop on and say we're crazy for even making a thread about her.

But I've been mulling it over, and it seems like there's truly not much else we can do at this point except wait. I just re-read Ben's note from her daughter, and it is very reassuring, so that made me feel better.

I agree...a bit part of me wants her to come back right away and be with us. But we have to respect her right to stay away. And, it isn't like her not to respond. But, it is what it is.

Dianela - I'm not going to bother her. I think, maybe, she's decided to not be part of our group. But, I don't know for sure. I sure miss her, but it is what it is.

I think she may be vacationing…. just taking it easy… a break maybe….. hope she comes back….. She may be very tired with all the gardening she was doing. Her last posting wS 12 days ago weeding JB. I hope she is healthy & relaxing. I don’t she realizes she is like family to us. Berry was like family, too.

I am not going to message , becase I dont keep in regular contact with her and dont want to bother her. She definetly has the right to relax without posting. I just wondered if there was someone she spoke outside of posting on a regular basis that had confirmed she was alright. Even when I am not posting I usually text with 2 members here about garden stuff. I didn’t know if she did that by email or text with anyone.

Oh, I see. Yes, she messaged quite a few people here. She messaged me a few times, but others more often, I think. Plus, I can't seem to find her email. I think she doesn't intend to return, or else she would have reassured us by now. But, I hope I'm wrong.

I just heard from Diane. She's been frustrated by the heat and by politics. Politics really do a number on her. Like they do to my daughter. She'll be back (YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). She's just taking some time to chill and try to get her head back on straight from the world around her.

I’m so happy to hear she plans to come back. I respect her need for a break, but I do miss her presence here a lot and it’s good to know her absence is temporary.

I would have missed her a lot so it's good news that she will return. I would say, cautiously, that even the political situation is improving, going toward the light rather than the dark. Sometimes we just need to be patient and trust in the will of the people.

Yes, dear Sheila, I think we are at that point again as in Les Miserables, and that sentiment will only increase. One man who is stupid and in the throes of dementia will not change that. Meanwhile, and always, we have roses, gardens and nature to nourish us and give us joy.

We have good news about Diane. And there have always been problems. We keep on having faith.

While on the topic of people on here, what happened to Cori Ann ? Did she leave because of privacy? Since her name was Houzz invaded my privacy.

I think Cori Ann finished her degree and moved states to NV, if I recall. I don't know if she got divorced or they just sold their lovely home, which was her husband's childhood home. Ben had some news on her a while ago. i always wonder if she continued wittth her roses in the new place as she had such a gift, but her old place also had some magic soil.

That is so sad she had to give up her garden. She put so much love and time into it.

I don't know that she "Had" to mmmmmmmove, just that she did!It is sad to think of someone else living there and ripping it all out.
