Art is personal but I need advice ...

The home office / guest room is small and narrow. The walls and cabinets are pale gray and the sofa is taupe. I found a rug which i like . I am searching for art over the 77" sofa which is not a landscape and has no blue or black. Ideally, it would have taupe and gray in an abstract rendition. I would like it to be original with energy -but not too jarring. The price should also be reasonable Can you guide my search - direct me to your preferred sources- and even submit what jumps into your creative minds that might help me? It is beautiful to see art but i am overwhelmed . Thank you so very much.
I am also trying out various pillows but will return them as i realize i should select the art first

Can you show other artwork that you own and love? What is a reasonable budget ?

Just spent a moment looking, but I like this from 1000Museums, lots of people are not familiar with Milton Avery. oh, you said no black- no blue—- how come?

I do love blue and I have a “ blue” - really blue room - lots of blue for it.

I would like it to be original with energy -

When you say original do you mean an original piece of artwork that is not mass produced?

The price should also be reasonable -

Reasonable is incredibly varied. But if you are looking for original artwork that is not mass produced, you need to pay artists a fair price. Give a specific price range you are looking in.

Why not buy whatever artwork is in your rendering?

The walls are a beautiful color.

Kendrah, thank you for liking the walls - i do as well and especially how they appear to change colors during the day when the light changes. Your questions are the ones I have been asking myself! Original is not the precise word - i should have written unusual - my apartment is part of a complex where all the units are the same so i was hoping for a little "pop". I cannot spend more than $250-300 for the art and that would be a stretch. I thought the picture in the rendering was a perfect blend but then reconsidered that it was too much like the rug? Also, it seemed a bit too serene and quiet. I can post a better image and maybe our Houzz creative friends can give their reactions and suggestions.

Any thoughts about this potential ?

Part of what is making the room in your rendering look so good is the size of the art. What is the size .you are looking for? And, what have you found in that size range that is also in your price range?

The art in your rendering is landscape orientation (longer than it is tall) and I think that makes sense for the sofa. The piece you just posted is a portrait orientation (taller than it is wide) and I don't think that will look right over the sofa.

Wider is going to look better, as @Kendrah recommended. I would scour two websites - greatbigcanvas.com and art.com.

Here are just a few I found on GBC

Very colorful, which could liven up the room

Would this liven up the room or is it the wrong blend of colors for the room?
