What on earth to do behind my bed head!

I have quite a big bedhead and am looking for a cost effective way of decorating behind it - its a bit of a strange shape! I think I have some options but would be interested in your opinions and any other options:

1) Add wallpaper mural - something leafy or japanese? - not too dark or bright

2) Panelling 2/3 of the way up the wall and paint in Livid - the dark green that is used on the wardrobes.

3) Would love some interesting art but and throught about something structural but haven't found anything that I have liked despite hours on eBay :-)

Would really appreciate your thoughts - have spent hours on this!!

Love the way you have kept it minimal - really great. As for behind the bed - this is what I have and it looks great. Google metal artwork - some great pieces. Good luck

I think the room looks lovely and doesn't need panelling or wallpaper. What do you mean by structural art? This sort of thing?

i feel the square pillows are covering the bed frame. I might also swap the bedding to white and add a pink and green throw picking up your colours

I think you could really use a mural or some kind of textured art behind your bed. Because the headboard is quite short, there’s a lot of empty vertical space above it. I’d suggest using both panelling and some textured art to make that area feel more finished.

I do love textured wall art though just to be upfront, that’s definitely my personal bias! It’s a bit of a job to do, but if you're after something quicker, you could skip the panelling altogether. Instead, go for a bold wallpaper and add a chunky horizontal picture ledge in walnut (to tie in with the bed and dresser). Pop a couple of framed prints on it and maybe a trailing plant like a pothos for some softness and greenery.

Sideboard note:
A mirror above it? Yes, absolutely. But not a small round one — if you're doing it, go big or don't bother. A rectangular pivot mirror or even a shallow arched, window-style mirror would be great to bounce light around and add interest.

The styling overall is lovely, just a few tweaks and it'll really come together.
