Master Bath Remodel Help! Details Lef

Hello!
I am close to starting my master bath remodel. I have the big ticket items picked out but some small things I have left.

Pictures show vanity pick, 15 x 30 floor tile with marble mosaic options, and large format shower wall tile and will use on whole wall behind tub (replacing w free standing).

-Thresholds-do I do them? I have the entrance to the bathroom plus a his and hers closets so 3 doorways. Should I do any at all, just one between master bedroom and bath or all 3?

-Niche Shape-this will go above my bench.
Should it be more vertical or horizontal in size?

-Debating about my shower floor still-one of these mosaics. Do I also use the same in the niche or use wall tile?

Inside my old dingy shower-will keep bench and add niche above, also take tile to ceiling..

I like your vanity and large tiles. Not as crazy about the marble mosaics. Is the large tile porcelain? It will be on the walls only? I'm sure that the mosaics are very expensive--are they for the floors? I'm not loving them together with the vanity and large tiles. I'd select something simpler with some of the tan/beige colors along with the gray and white.

Niche needs to be tall enough for your bottles and wide enough to fit in the space. Use the same tiles for the niche--using an accent tile is a waste since it will be covered most of the time by whatever is in the niche.

As far as thresholds are concerned, show a floor plan for the space and how it relates to the adjoining rooms.

Thx! Large tile is porcelain and for the shower walls and the wall around the window behind the tub. I didn’t really like any of the porcelain mosaics.. am a little afraid of marble upkeep also…the mosaics are $30 per sq ft and I was thinking just for the shower floor only and possibly the niche. I liked that the mosaics were a little more unique and had the grays and brown shades going through, most of the options seemed to have only the grays and whites in veining, I’ve been to all local stores and nothing has stood out to me. I did my kids bath last year and did this niche size -I think it’s 12 x 24. I wasn’t sure if it should do that size for mine or something a little different to fill the space of that wall more. Here is what I did in my kids, also I used schluter for the trim. Not sure if I should do that again or do like pencil tile pieces…

Currently I have silver schluter for threshold. See layout-bathroom is a straight shot from bedroom with closets across from each other. The door in bathroom partially open has the toilet in there across from shower, continuous tile in there, just showing flow of space.

Pic shows wall sample where it would go on wall, tub and surround will come out. Floor sample there also..

I think your large wall and floor tile is stunning.

I would do a plainer warmer tile for the shower floor (but maybe a more interesting shaped mosaic, and ditch the marble.

    Maybe something like this:

    Or perhaps these:

The shower floor and the niche are not that big, so you could go darker.

    Thank you!
Thanks for the ideas, yeah I’m not sure about going that dark. Originally, I wanted to lighten up the space because the shower can feel a little dark how it’s sandwiched between walls..and that penny round is pretty but I cannot stand cleaning all that grout. Wasn’t sure if I’d regret it. I’ll think about it though! Open to any suggestions for the shower floor.

I like lighter colors like this but this is way too similar to the large format on the wall and the floor, that’s why I was looking for something a little different/interesting. I’m not crazy about the hexagon shape in general. I feel like it’s kinda standard right now…

Does the shower porcelain tile have matching mosaic tile? That is what I used in my master shower.

What I like to do is cut the larger tiles to make a border around the shower perimeter and then put the mosaic inside of the border.

For the current house, I also skipped built-in benches and used teak benches. More flexibility for using the space as we age and it is a lot more comfortable than a cold hard surface.

Pretty! No, it does not have a smaller match. I have had the built in bench all these years so I do like having that as I’m used to my setup and want to keep. I have the square tile grid look on the floor so I’d like to change it up with something different. Was trying to find a larger pattern with less grout lines..

Chispa-does yours have caulk around that border/where floor meets wall? It looked like grout only..I like how the tile is cut on the border.

That large wall tile looks like Crash from Happy Floors. If it is, there are mosaics for shower floors. Personally, I would not do a marble shower floor ever. That large format tile is the star of the show - you'll never pay attention to the shower floor. Simplify it.

For the niche, we have been doing taller ( 15") since a lot of people are getting bigger bottles and pump bottles so they require a little more room.

Hi Debbie-ok, thanks. Yeah, this one is from Floor and Decor, I googled the one you mentioned and looks similar. Any tile ideas for me for shower floor and/or niche or use wall tile in niche? Thx!!

With that pattern, I would do the wall tile in the niche. Does your main floor tile have a matching mosaic? You could do that. I still think I would pull a color from the bold tile and do a simple mosaic floor.

    Here are some thoughts....

Obviously these do not reflect the sizes of these tiles. They are all mosaic and all porcelain. Snipped the pics off floor and decor's website. .

    Good luck!

The floor tile does not have a match either! Thanks for the ideas-reminds me of my inspiration picture-that one mosaic you suggested-see pic below! I really like that bathroom…
