What great clumps you have! Pink Tarantula is wonderful. Mine that you graciously sent has short scapes this year but is getting way too much shade. Orchid Majesty is always so pretty. Gotta love Crazy Kate!! Wonderful shots and so many different ones! The heat will get us the next few days!!

I love all those Davissons at the beginning - especially Crazy Kate! I added that one this Spring after drooling over yours last season and was disappointed when I received such a puny plant. I doubt that it will bloom this year. I got it from a Lily Auction seller who sent me large ready-to-bloom plants last year. It's good to see your Pink Tarantula again. I'm glad Nile Princess has been a good bloomer this year. It always had plenty of buds and rebloom for me - one of the few Pierces that was registered height in my garden.

Thank you Kate and Debra. All our complaints about rain are going to echo this week since the heat of summer is supposed to begin and they are warning of heat warning possibility already.

Kate, Pink Tarantula is having a good year, probably aided by the rains. You have such huge wonderful clumps that I am sure yours will get there. Debra, I have bought many Davissons from a seller who goes by" lunab" on the auction. I think he is in New Jersey, and he invariably sends wonderful plants, and I am sorry you got a puny one. Did you say anything to the seller about it?

Both of you commented on Crazy Kate, and it is indeed a wonderful plant. I so have several more new to me Davisson's plants and will be posting three more today. I just like her plants and they do well here. Nile Princess is a good bloomer, Debra and I really do like it. The blooms seem to be perfect every time and it has a pretty face. Ihope your Crazy Kate surprises you and blooms for you this year.

Crazy Kate looks pretty in its clump......My favorite is Orchid Majesty. What a pretty color that is..........Heat has hit us with a vengence. From 86 degrees on Wednesday to 97 today and the humidity is hideous. Heat Index in the hundreds. You can sure see the difference in certain daylilies from one day to the next...........Maryl

Uncle Sam's Cut is another of the RFK progeny that didn't like it here. Of course, I had a puny fan like Debra's. I wonder if the winter was a factor, in that the seller mentioned (from Delaware) usually sends nice stuff. I will say though that I often am surprised at how small the stuff sent from the mid-South is in the spring. (For that matter, I've had some small ones from Georgia too.)

I see lots of buds yet on those Davissons. Tahiti Sweetie is my favorite too.

So impressive your garden is. I agree about Tahiti Sweetie. One of my favorites too. I must go and look up Crazy Kate. I just saw it on Kate's post and now yours.

Mantis and Kay- My seller was lunab from Delaware. I did get great plants from his last year. I think Crazy Kate will bloom fine next year.

Thank you so much for looking and commenting. Maryl, Orchid Majesty reminds me of Jellyroll Morton, And Sugar Magnolia in that it is one that almost poses and is quite photogenic. On no, that is our forecast for the weekend, I did water all my baskets tonight since no rain today; I will be watering twice a day now I am sure.

Thank you, Mantis. I am sorry your Uncle Sam's Cut did not do well. Puny fans do make a difference. My New Jersey seller is very reliable. He sent a plant early spring that the post office did not deliver as they were supposed to, and as three other people in this state had a similar problem, he sent a replacement to me via UPS even though I assured him the original would survive n spite of looking half dead; (it did survive and has put up a bloom scape now. Mantis, a couple of my new Davissons have not begun to bloom yet, Elegant Girls and Tangerine Tamale.

Thank you Julia. I have you to thank for that Tahiti Sweetie and I do every time I look at it. Judy Davisson gives Crazy Kate high marks, and it is a very pretty one. It rebloomed last year (its first year) and that is a good sign.
