Kitchen Colour Scheme & Finishings Help

Hi All,
I am in the process of planning a small kitchen reno. Idea being I will replace benchtop, baksplash, cabinetry handles and sink.
Cook top is new, cant afford to replace horrible floor tiles so have to choose benchtop and tiles that will work for a few years with the idea that Ill have a oak wood coloured floor in time.
My current thoughts are:
* Straight edged overmount stainless steel double sink to match the new gas cooktop
* Simple white stone benchtop
* Tiled backsplash due to having to work around window sill area. No idea about style, colour however feel this is where I could add something which isn't just plain white!

Forgive me, it sounds as though you’ve made your peace with the floors, but to my eye, if you change the floors and nothing else you’ll have a much nicer kitchen.

It’s also probably a mistake to put stone counter tops on those cabinets. Your current substrate is in good shape. You can square up the edge profile and re-laminate the tops you have for a fraction of the cost of stone, and honestly, it will suit the cabinets better. You can use a flush mount sink. The only other investment I would make in the space is a new backsplash. Best of luck whatever you decide to do.

Thanks @eam44, you got me thinking for sure. However the stone benchtop is a sure fire safe investment where as I don't think laminate benchtop sell houses.
