Is the house painted green or does the first photo not show its real color?

My front door also faces the sun, and in a hot, humid climate. I have had to repaint it frequently even though I use top quality "weatherproof" paint, because it develops bubbles, especially near the bottom. I suspect staining would last longer because it would wear more evenly, so my next door will be stained wood.

What happens if you just let it weather? Weathered wood can look great. The door would be fine in a lighter color.

I wouldnt let it weather, but, thats because, I hate weathered wood, or anything distressed too. LOL I would restain it, rather than paint. The stain will hold up better.

When you restain you are just adding another layer on top of what is already there. That wouldn't give you a true color based on the species of wood used for the door and the previous stains.

I would paint it a light color so the panels/texture shows up more. And change up the light fixtures and door handle.

I would also paint all the shadow indents on the windows white. I'll try anything for a change.
