Wet Wednesday's Winners

last year

We had quite a thunderstorm with torrential downpours this afternoon. But this morning was nice and dry.

The Ultimate Sacrifice finally had a pretty clean bloom!

Midnight Castle lost a fan over the winter. It's not doing as well as the other evergreens I planted next to the house.

Bill Norris provides a bright counterpoint to everything around it.

White Tooth X Skater #4 - It was hazy this morning for a few minutes, so I was finally able to get a photo of one of the clumps. It's been so floriferous for the past five days!

Bubblegum Queen

Perseus' Sandals X Jumping Jack Flash is always the first thing that catches my eye in the garden.

Light of the World

Such A Blaze - Most mornings this one takes a long time to open, but today it opened earlier because of the unusually warm night.

Pink Extaordinaire X $exy Samantha - I have two clumps of this.

Here's the other Pink Ex X $exy Sam clump.

So Irresistible

Both of the Pink Extraordinaire X $exy Samantha varieties are my favorite!! Perseus' Sandals X Jumping Jack Flash looks great. Mine started today, but the picture I took is blurred. I also like the Ultimate Sacrifice and Bubblegum Queen! I guess this post hit the jackpot for me!

The White Tooth/Skater seedling certainly catches my eye. So So Irresistible you think will flourish? We are having a strong thunderstorm right now. Plants were turning yellow, so good thing, I guess.

The Ultimate Sacrifice was blemish free in my garden with all the rain this year; that is a beauty. You know that White Tooth X Skater #4 and Perseus Sandals X Jumping Jack Flash are always dear to my heart. Bubblegum Queen is beautiful and So Irresistible is just that.

These are all so pretty! Love the seedlings-the Pink Extraordinaire seedling looks really good. The White Tooth seedling looks great in that clump. Such a Blaze has a wonderful color!

Beautiful photos! I love the first two--I like purple and red with watermarks. Bill Norris is such a nice variety. I always love your Perseus' Sandals seedling and the White Skater seedling too.

What a beautiful shot of Ultimate Sacrifice. On something that dark it's almost unheard of to get an unmarked bloom. Gorgeous...........I like that picture of the multiple blooms on Pink Ex seedling............Maryl

Brad - I will be interested in seeing how the Perseus' Sandals seedling does for you. I was really worried about how the Pink Extraordinaire seedlings would do here. They are quite a bit shorter than in Nashville this first time.

Mantis - So Irresistible is hanging in there. I don't know if it will flourish. I brought it mainly for hybridizing reasons. It didn't get planted until late October. Next year will tell the tale of whether it will "flourish."

I was surprised to see this post here this morning. I tried to post yesterday afternoon, but it never showed up then.

Bill Norris I've always admired and I keep saying one day I will get it. Light Of the Word looks very good. Your are definitely bursting with blooms.

The reason I like The Ultimate Sacrifice so much is that it is rarely splotchy. Maybe because it is by the deck. Pink Ex seedling are so pretty. No rain for us!

Nancy G. - The Ultimate Sacrifice has been very splotchy here, although it never was in Nashville. The hybridizer said it does not splotch because it holds a tight bud until right before it opens. I think I had some kind of bugs doing damage.
