Just a few for Friday

last modified: last year

A lot of my daylilies registered as EM are not blooming yet. They want to be mids or MLs this year. A few, especially those where fans emerged late, have not scaped. I don't know if they will this year.

Make It Snappy- I've been waiting for this EM, and it finally started blooming today.

Maui Sunrise is registered late. It always bloomed EM in Nashville. Here it's blooming mid.

$exy Samantha X Bubblegum Delicious #4 was always a mid bloomer. The dormant sib multiplied quite a bit over the winter. It's the sister with the fanciest edge.

Dancing Flamingo has been blooming for about a week. Because of the sun situation, I haven't been able to get a very good photo of it.

Believe in Angels is blooming about the right time. It looks more yellow than it did in Nashville.

Yoga Man with a threesome.

More nice blooms despite the move. I hope everything continues to improve. Are you making any crosses this season?

Nice to have them blooming again. Make it Snappy is nice, and $exy Samantha X Bubblegum Delicious #4 has a gorgeous edge, doesn't it? Yoga Man in triplets is good and whites are always so nice to have Believe in Angels is a pretty one even if darker than Nashville. Here, Dancing Footman had its best year ever with the rains it rebloomed twice and had perfect blooms with no splotches at all.

Make is Snappy is doing great this year for me. My Yoga Man is close to the end of its season, but has been beautiful. Second year for me and I am liking it a lot. I have been helping a friend move, then today went to a gardening friends home to see her daylilies. she has a lot of newer Pierce daylilies. But I have not been home to take pictures when they are pretty, and today it has been raining all afternoon. I always love your Dancing flamingo!

Dancing Flamingo is a pretty one. Yoga Man is looking good. That edge on the seedling looks great. I like the look of Make It Snappy!

Unrelenting sun makes for difficult pictures, as all the shadows show. This actually seems to be a good year for many evergreens--with the zone 5 winter, pretty good snow cover, and all the rain to give a boost. Will the plants continue to perform? That's the question.

What a great edge of SS x Bd #4 seedling. So frilly and girly looking on a pink daylily....... Believe in Angels is a pretty near white. I have little objection when the base color of an off white daylily is yellow. It's when it's that brown shaded peach, old newspaper color, that turns me off. So I think Believe in Angels would look good both ways - white or pale yellow.........Maryl

Quite a nice ruffling edge on your #4 seedling. Maui Sunrise has been blooming here for 2 weeks so definitely not a late even in WV. Make It Snappy looks good.

Mantis - The intense sunshine is horrible for photographing. I got a break this morning as it was overcast for a little while.

Sherry - I made a couple of crosses a couple of weeks ago when the daylilies first started blooming. During this heat wave with temps of 93 and 94, I haven't attempted to set any pods since they rare take in that kind of heat. Today is a bit cooler, but since heavy rain is predicted , I didn't try any. This next week looks like temps in the 80s and a couple of dry days, so I'll probably make some crosses then.

    Debra,

Maui Sunrise looks darker in your new climate. Dancing Flamingo is my favorite of these.
