I second what Ben said.

Same as above. Make sure you switch between products though otherwise the thrips will adapt to a product and will have resistance against the same old product that you’ve been using.

Not what you are really asking but I didn’t do anything earlier in the year after I had the most horrible looking roses, because of thrips, after a nice flush. I was afraid they would keep ruining my roses but something must have eaten the thrips because I got beautiful blooms for the house the last few days. In case someone is giving organic gardening a chance, it seems to have worked here (I admit to having had doubts).

You need to try Bayer Complete Insect Control (if you haven't already), 1 tbl./gallon water, every 10-14 days. It's cheap, systemic, and should kill anything that sucks or chews roses, except for spider mites. Spray the blooms too, as soon as they show color until petal drop.

I don't have thrips, and I've had similar experiences to what CT reports, but if you need a spray...I've made up a home made spray that you might try first. Just putting garlic and a small amount of cayenne pepper in a blender and blend it well and strain it into a spray bottle and add a drop of dishwashing liquid. That is just a very natural general spray for a lot of different pests.

I ordered and sprayed Spinosad, it didnt work too well. On the plus side, I am seeing some small black bugs that appear to be eating the thrips.

I have another option coming from Amazon, its called Venerate, its another bioinsecticide. Ill report on that

(I personally would be concerned about catching other bugs on it, which 2 people mentioned happening, they found thrip predators on theirs).

Some people used yellow, pink and white cups with good results, and apparently any oil can work.
