Major Mauve Master Bathroom Help Please!

I need paint color help. I have a Master Bath from 1990 with Smoky Mauve Ceramic tile on Floor and Smoky Mauve and Bone Tiles on tub surround and glass shower back. Tub is bone or almond cultured marble and so is counter. The cabinets are dark cherry which willI either be refinished or painted (color suggestions!). There is a small Northern facing window. I am removing the wallpaper and need to come up with best paint color which will help the situation. Either de-emphasize the mauve tile or just help the room. You may think I am crazy but the mauve can almost seem kind of neutral because of the smokiness. I know it would be preferable to gut it but I cannot. Colors like SW Greek Villa, or SW Divine White have been mentioned. I will admit when I hold up the divine white to the bone tile and tub they are similar to me. I have no eye for color and need some help. What would you do? Any ideas would be helfull. First tile picture was taken inside light. Second tile picture is in sunlight. The white card in both is the trim and door color which is Gl High Hiding White. Thank you in advance for any help or opinions.

Don't paint the cabinets. Cabinet painting takes a lot more work and different paint to do it well than painting the walls, so it costs a lot.

This is for selling, right? Take the off white and mauve tiles to the paint shop and pick out the closest match to the off white tile. Close enough is good enough, no need for a custom tint. The Glidden High Hide White will have changed color, probably yellower now, over the last 35 years.

A professional tile cleaning company can make fast work of machine cleaning shower and floor tiles, then sealing them for easier cleaning. The tile may look lighter and brighter. The grout will look cleaner, too.

While the house is on the market, avoid hard water bar soap scum by switching to a liquid body wash.

WHY are you spending valuble time and money on this?? Wall paper is back. The new owner will want what they want. When you put NEW in to sell you squelch the new owners choices. No one wants to change NEW. Clean clean clean and walk away.

Would you recommend painting the cabinet cream rather than leaving cherry? I had considered painting it but was unsure which direction to go.

whatever color white you choose, paint everything that color, the ceiling, trim and walls, no contrasting white for trims.

The floor will look great and the tub, darkened with age will too.

removing the wallpaper was the hard part. I would not change the cabinets, just clean everything. The brass with the creamy white will look great. I would suggest SW Alabaster, but your whites have spoken to you, so go with your gut.

Your bathroom looks like it belongs in my sister's house - it coordinates with her dining room perfectly! The wallpaper may actually be identical! She also has carpet in the dining room that is the same color as the bone tiles + it has a smokey mauve border!

Her house was built in 1988 (she and my BIL purchased it in 1997) - and she's never changed anything inside of it until this past year! She redid the floor and tub/shower tile in one of the bathrooms (I helped my BIL select the new tile) + removed the grass wallpaper in the family room (which was the ONLY wallpaper that looked nice).

I think removing the wallpaper will make a big difference. I wouldn't paint the vanity - not worth the $$ or your time/effort if you diy it (doing all of the required prep work in order for the vanity to look nice when finished).

i would embrace the smokey mauve and try to get a color match of the tile.

Home Depot color matched a tile for me. BM and SW wouldn’t.

for me in your space, white would look like a primer waiting to be painted.

Question. Where does OP say she is selling?

If this is for resale, I would simply remove the wallpaper and paint the wall the same colour as you trim (but in a matte or eggshell finish) which seems to coordinate well with your tiles.
