Embracing the good today!

last year
last modified: last year

I am done whining. I am going to embrace the good blooming here. Today was a really good garden day. Had enough clouds today to get some good photos.

Ffo for Here Lies Butch, what a great start with four blooms!

Ffo for Neon Flamingo, another foursome! Not the best photo but I was impressed with four blooms.

Ffo for Orange Smoothie.

Peach Pizazz, a Selman that has done fairly well here…..most languiish.

Ffo for Her Best Bloomers and is well budded this season. Had a low bud count last season. no other daylily boasts this color, stunning in person.

Finally got a good photo of Mary’s Baby. First blooms lacked the white edge.

Brocaded Gown, love this delicate oldie.

Ffo for Green Eyed Envy

Kathy’s Orchid Bouquet is new to the garden.

Morrocan Sunrise first bloom is small.

Ffo for Itza Pink Teddy is a bit small.

Purple Paw Print is well budded but blooming in the foliage.

A double first bloom on Hearts Abound.

Hemstitched

Ffo on one of Debra’s seedlings.

Little Strawberry Shortcake has scrumptious color.

A smaller bed. no mulch necessary.

Nice group. Neon Flamingo looks good. You have it in a perfect spot in the last bed shot. I will go back and look up a couple of ones you posted. I don't recall seeing them before. You can whine all you want as I'm sure most of us understand the seasonal disappointments but also celebrate the good ones.

These all look wonderful! It's nice to see my pink seedling hanging in there. I'm surprised Mary's Baby is blooming so early for you. It always bloomed pretty late for me. I'm glad the white edge is on it now. That really sets off the dark color. Her Best Bloomers is just loaded with bud, and I find the color appealing. Here Lies Butch looks so pretty with that hosta in the background. Do you know the name of the hosta? Your Neon Flamingo is doing better than mine. It only has two scapes out of six fans.

Debra, The hosta is called June, it is my favorite variety. I have several in the gardens, they really tolerate sun exposure. That hosta is in the sun until about 1 pm, doesnt brown and can tolerate dry spells.

I'll "ditto" your remark on Little Strawberry Shortcake. Wonderful color.......Kathy's Orchid Bouquet is a pretty one and of course there's Mary's Baby. I still love mine even if it's not quite as purple as it is in your garden. Velvet on a stick.......Orange Smoothie's color can be mercurial. With all the humidity in the air this year, the color here (which tends to be more orange usually) has shifted to the yellow side of the spectrum. Still rampant bloomer for me........Great shot of the little garden area..........Maryl

I like Kathy's Orchid Bouquet. Really a pretty one. Here Lies Butch is great. I like Little Strawberry Shortcake.. Mary's Baby Looks good as does Her Best Bloomers. I love Bed Photos. Mulch is always needed here. That must be nice aand the bed is very pretty.

Bela Lugosi looks very good this year. It is too quickly dismissed as just an oldie. I had to take a second look this year when it bloomed. Mary's Baby just started here. It takes a while to get established after division. Butch is an evergreen Agin. Linda Beck this year is a bit shorter than usual.

Thanks for the name of the hosta! I'm looking for some for a shade bed in front of the house that partly gets no sun and part gets about 3 hours of sun a day.

I am surprised Butch has done well here. It took awhile to get established. unfortunately it is the evergreens that have disapppointed.
