And until this, I'd never seen a toilet paper holder like that before. It makes a better vase holder, IMO. Seems like it would be kind of annoying to use for its intended purpose.

IDK… why would one want a vase up in the air attached to the side of a cabinet? And put holes in a nice piece of custom cabinetry? A pretty vase can be seen and appreciated on a horizontal surface like a countertop, whereas in the TP holder the vase itself is obscured and the flowers are above your sightline. To me this sounds a bit like the tail wagging the dog 🤷‍♀️

Well to be fair, I wouldn't want a vase of flowers on the kitchen counter where it might get knocked over.

I wouldn’t want it drilled into my cabinet either. Agree it looks odd there but I can think of placements where it makes more sense.

I do not think I have ever seen that style TP holder, but I have seen a similar setup for a drinking glass.

I kinda like it but would not like it empty, which it would be most of the time.

It looks like a really nice tp holder - solid brass, nice design. Interesting idea. I'm wondering why she wouldn't move the plant on the shelf to the right there.

I like it. I use a modified candlestick as a tp holder in my powder room. I see no reason not to use this in the kitchen. It might also make an interesting paper towel holder.
