Remember the eyelet shirt?

6 days ago

This ran across one of my feeds today. Again, a number of designers have been showing "non-traditional" men's clothing for a long time, but this is Gap, again.

    I like it too but long ago made the decision not to wear appliqueed or otherwise embellished tops, which would surely make me look like a walking cliche. At least they‘d be a novelty on a man — for awhile, anyway.

    Grandmacore. I applaud a mainstream company promoting open mindedness.

    I have a red crop sweater with black embroidery. I like the sweater...then I over-think-it...looks old-lady. :0) Everything old is back for the young people that don't remember it. The model is rockin' it tho, buuuuut....I think he'd look good in just about anything.

    @deegw..Love that dress!!!

    Love the dress, @deegw. I purchased this (LINK) from WrapLondon (the higher quality sister of Poetry, also out of London). I recently wore it in the heat and humidity for a show at the new amphitheater. It was THE best purchase for that evening. Most of the reviews are good. I ignored the one "frumpy" and ordered. It is not overly full or frumpy. It is a nice, light weight but does not require a slip.

    This is a poplin collared shirt so a little bit different from a craft show lady "top ".

    Was just suggested this video (LINK) on IG, showing his making of this shirt from a 1960s French machine lace piece.

    Ends up under a jacket, which hides the lovely back view.

    LINK and company IG LINK to more of his collections. He uses bed sheets, quilts, antique textiles and other materials.

    Don’t tell anyone, but we watched Bachelor In Paradise this week. We could have designed a drinking game from how many guys wore short-sleeved sweaters. I guess that’s the summer style for 20-something guys? One wore sleeveless sweaters, aka vests, but without a shirt underneath.

    Side note, speaking of embroidery, DH likes Bonobos clothing and they are having a sale. I was looking at a couple of shirts to get for his bday and threw this in the cart for myself (it is a man’s cap). I don’t think any of the guys in my family would wear it, although DH does wear floral shirts. I have a big head so I am hoping it will work for me.
