JennAir appliances for kitchen remodel?

I’m remodeling my kitchen in an historic home and am considering JennAir appliances as the design is good, they have the specifics I need in terms of size and function, and they are reasonably affordable yet higher end.

Both my parents and my in laws have Jenn-Air down draft ranges that have been in good operation for decades. I know it’s changed since then and I’m really sour on KitchenAid as I’ve had multiple/major appliances just die within three years or less. Two dishwashers and a fridge. No thank you.

JennAir is a Whirlpool product. Downdraft ventilation is low performance especially without a riser. And even worse for gas. The recommendation is to choose the appliances individually based on best in class. Bosch or Miele dw. SubZero frig. Induction range or cooktop and CSO and convection wall ovens like Miele.

JennAir wasn't originally a Whirlpool product. It came along to Whirlpool with their purchase of Maytag in 2006.

The general advice here is that no single brand excels at every type of appliance. I used mostly Jenn-Aire (refrigerator, DW, warming drawer, wall oven) when I did a remodel more than 10 years ago because I got lured in with a good rebate. (cooktop and MW drawer were different brands.) I eventually replaced the DW with a Bosch because I didn't love the layout or cleaning power of the Jenn-Aire. However I donated it to a firehouse where it gets heavy use and apparently it's still working. The fridge seemed to have uneven cooling (some cold spots that froze lettuce; other spots seemed less cold.) I no longer own that house so I can't speak to how it's doing now.

I'd recommend doing research on appliances from different brands and buy based on reviews vs brands. FWIW in my last remodel (2023) I used a Miele DW for the first time and it's terrific. My Bosch refrigerator is great; my Bosch gas range is quite good but with a few quirks (sometimes takes a couple tries to light a burner.)

Can one grill inside without making a mess? Perhaps the 36" model with covered Ninja DG551 grill would be a better choice.

Jennair JJW2827LL ($5400): except for the control panel, virtually the same as Kitchenaid KOED527PSS ($2900) and Maytag MOED6027LZ ($2880)

Jennair JFFCC72EHL ($5900): except for appearance, virtually the same as Kitchenaid KRFC704FPS ($4000)

Jennair JDAF5924RL ($2450): CR-recommended Kitchenaid KDTE204KPS ($800) would be a better choice. Alternative: CR top-rated Bosch SHP78CM5N ($1400)

Jennair UVL6048JSS: My understanding is that hood with baffle filters such as the Zephyr AK9246BS are better.
