Some good stuff today

It is 80* today and cloudy….looks like rain coming. I am afraid to actually say that. Got a few nice photos today.

Today I can see the pink edge on Lemon Strawberry Twist. The heat had faded the edge. This bloom is 8”.

A cloudy day brought the true color out on Orange Smoothie, best blooms this season.

Kissed by Moonlight, blooms have been pale, looking good today. This daylily decided to leap this year, extremely well budded and not as bothered by the weather as other daylilies I have in full sun.

Mighty Chestnut got moved out of the shade and into all day sun last fall. It is well budded and this Ffo looks really good. The color is more saturated this season.

Forsyth Flaming Snow ffo. It is in a good location and is still languishing in year three. not sure about its future here.

Second season for Creamsicle Candy. The bloom is small but seems unbothered by the heat and sun.

An early bloom on Sea Dragon, is smaller than usual.

I love seeing Mighty Chestnut. It's been on my long list for years. I think Nan used to grow and show it, and the color fascinated me. To my eyes it has a rather smoky orange base color. At your 80 degrees though its hard to tell what it would look like in my 90's. I hope you post more of it........I'm so glad to see such wonderful blooms on your Orange Smoothie this year. Look at all those ruffles and the orange color I normally see in my climate shows up too. Ironically, this year is one of the few that it mostly shaded more on the yellow side............Too bad about Forsyth Flaming Snow. It looks very pretty for its ffo.........Maryl

Your Orange Smoothie is always so pretty in both form and color. Creamsicle Candy is also one that looks good. Funny about F. Flaming Snow-I have had mine longer that three years and it still puts up one scape.

It's nice to see the color returning to your daylilies. Lemon Strawberry Twist looks good with a bit of strawberry edge. Orange Smoothie is so much more colorful now!

The weather forecast was wrong again. No rain here. the small storms disipated at they approached. Some rain in the areas around us, what a bummer.

Nice bloom of Woman at the Well. This daylily went from 6 fans to 2 fans, only one poorly budded scape this season.

I forgot to say I'm glad Kissed By Moonlight is well-budded for you this year. It was always so pale for me.

So sorry to hear your still not getting rain. Good post and Orange Smoothie is one I would pick for my garden.

Creamsicle Candy is an attractive color. Maybe it will get a boost in its thirdyear. At least you got some relief from the relentless sun.

I like Lemon Strawberry Twist. really well...the orange goes well with it. Sea Dragon is pretty too. I hate that Forsyth's Flaming Snow is not doing well.'
