Can a right arm facing sectional (reverse of current sofa) work here?

We have a sectional that is the reverse of what is in this room now, and the chaise/bumper section also extends out about a foot more than the current sofa. While it's not ideal, would it work in this room or look too silly? It would mean having the bumper section near the room entrance, and also forcing people to walk around the sofa when entering the room from the patio sliders. I know this is not ideal, but is it a huge faux pas?

The corner chair and ottoman would have to be moved into the corner when the wedge of the current sectional is.

A right arm facing chaise would cut off the easy access to and from the chair and ottoman.

Off your topic, but, I think the sectional there now, could be pulled away from the walls; and the right facing arm align with the edge of the bay window. The glass side table could then be next to the chaise. Then the chair and ottoman could be pulled in more to be in the conversations.

@User Thanks for the suggestions. We are moving into this house and the furniture pictured is the current owner's and will be going with them. We have a similar sectional but reversed which is why I asked the question. If we put an extra chair and ottoman in the room it would have to go in the opposite corner (where the wedge of the current sectional is).

I would certainly bring it with and try it. Live with it and see if it works for you and your family. If not, replace it then.

Yes, try it. you could also add a sofa table to the chaise end.

I would try it out since you have nothing to lose. I would also try it backing onto the bookcase wall with the tv in the corner on an angle with a stand.
