It rained this morning but I couldn't tell you how much. I slept in this morning because we had a late night last night. No hybridizing today because of the rain. I just got a few photos.

This is new to the garden (last year) and is the first flowers we have seen. It is Ferocious from Mike Grossmann. It is quite tall and the bloom is pretty big. We were lucky to see it this year. A deer came and ate several of the buds, but thankfully didn't eat them all. It also has a rebloom scape coming.

John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt was showing off today.

This seedling, Chomp X Ruffled Strawberry Parfait, will be an intro next season. We thought at first that it wouldn't have the bud count we were looking for, but this year it is showing a bud count ranging from 17 or so to around 20. It is also a late bloomer. It's on the short side and the flower is about 5 inches across, but we like it.
