where to put electrical outlets near MBR vanity

We are redoing our MBR. Right now my outlet is on the side of a cabinet near my sink. Our new plan will have matching towers with three small drawers on the bottom. My outlet will either need to be 1) on the side of the tower and above the drawer height which will likely be 12-15” high on the side, 2) on the wall on the other side of the tower - 15” away from the work space with a cord being stretched across and in front of the tower, or 3) on the back wall above the back splash. Any thoughts?

What do your local codes say about outlet placement? Most states follow the national code, but some places can have additional code requirements.

As @beesneeds says, you need to reference local code. For example, in CA: outlets need to be at least 12 inches from the edge of the sink and within 36 inches of the outside edge of each lavatory basin. The receptacle shall be located not more than 12 inches below the top of the basin.
