Need Exterior Paint Color consultation ASAP
Help - we have to finalize our paint colors this weekend - painter has prepped the house, power washed, primed, carpentry, etc. and is coming Monday to start to apply the colors and we really need a consultation with an experience exterior paint expert but I can't find anyone who we can get an appointment with on such short time line.
We want a color that is light and airy and not too trendy - last house we went with trend and after 5 years regretted it. We are heavily leaning toward Benjamin Moore Navajo White with BM soft gloss White trim. We think we want the shutters to be a light color rather than black or deep Navy blue but we waffle on whether we should make the shutters dark or black. We are thinking a deep Navy Blue for front door but we have not narrowed that down. We would love a color consultation if anyone has any recommendation/ideas.
We have learned a lot about picking exterior house color in the last few weeks - now we know we need to factor in things like, roof color, direction that the house faces, stone work, etc. We have been through many ideas, used AI mock-ups and watched dozens of videos but that just added to our uncertainty. Our roof is Timberline High Definition asphalt shingles, color is Weathered Wood. Our front path is red brick with blue stone front porch/stoop. I am not sure how to describe the direction our house faces - I attached a photo that shows the house of a site plan with the front door facing south east - the deck is in the back and garage is on the left? Would appreciate any advice on colors and or recommendation of someone who we could consult with over the weekend. Thanks!

Adding a simple, architecturally correct roof at the front door would enhance the look of the house.
As for color, I'm sure your painter will be applying two coats of paint. No rule that says they need to be the same color. On a recent job, I painted one wall at least 4 times working with the homeowner to find the perfect color. Sometimes that's what it takes.I'm not familiar with your suggested colors, but no matter what you choose, gutters are trim, so paint them the color of the fascia, and the downspouts the color of the siding so they blend in.

last yearlast modified: last yearnot an expert but what about SW natural choice? With your roof color, I’d go creamy -I love yellow but the change feels a bit like an update, maybe add white operational shutters for dimension and a pretty color for the door?

last yearlast modified: last yearThe tree to the right looks like a Japanese maple…? If so, keep it. The shrub to the needs to be trimmed to just below the window ledge. If not possible, remove and plant something that can be kept low. What is the middle tree?
Navajo White could be nice with the navy door you mentioned…and navy shutters. NW can read pretty bright on the exterior.
Just thinking…SW Repose Gray is a light warm gray. Looks nice with white trim and would work well with a slate blue door and shutters.
