Your best bet is to do a walk-through, room by room, and note everything your eye catches.

My concern is that my eye isn't going to catch things I don't know about needed. I just learned I could have bumpers so that the cabinets don't hit the doorframe. Those are the items I'm afraid will cost me dings and scratches down the road.

Tracy, what type of remodeling did you do? Was it a kitchen remodeling or addition, etc.

Is there something specific you're worried about missing besides paint touch-up, caulking along trim, etc.? Usually, it will have something to do with a cosmetic touch-up, or if you mention the type of remodeling that was done, you can be pointed to the specific items to look for.

We took the entire house down to the studs, reinsulated and built it out drywall, etc.

Multiple contractors, no one owned the overall job - that was us. So now, my lack of knowledge has me realizing no one spoke about small things from doorstops, to co2 detectors - perhaps it is ingrained in contractors, but not us noobs.

For a job of that size, you should have had rough and final inspections.

I think at this point, your best bet would be, is to hire a house inspector or someone knowledgeable, since there is no GC on the job, and you worry about CO2 detector and other smoke detectors that should be interconnected (something should be tested during final fire inspection by a fire inspector), and help you with a walkthrough and make sure everything is done right.
