I would like to add in a different color around the porch and garage door trim

Why?

I'd pick a warm cream from your lighter bricks.

I don’t love the way Griffin looks with the color stain of the wood door and garage door.

Can you show us the Griffin color up against the brick and also by the roof shingles? The trim color needs to take both brick and roof into consideration.

Your house has a lot going on and I’d be aiming to connect all the components (including window trim) to create a more seamless/less busy feel and would not paint the porch and garage trim another color. I’d suggest a grey though as I don’t think Griffin will enhance your home.

Suggest getting a quart of Griffin and a grey paint and test on the garage’s trim and/or the posts to compare (the back of house would better suit grey as well).

I do not mind the Griffin but please everywhere no different color on the entry area I just wonder why you cover the door at all You have a orotected entry what is the purpose of the storm door? I have lived in some pretty cold places and never needed a storm door, a screen yes and I use Phantom. The roof, the brick do not work well together so less is more when choosing this new color.. I think a really dark brown might work too to tie in the garage door The house is one of those where the brick should have also been wrapped around , what pyou show is like 2 different houses and IMO that siding on the back should be the same as whatever color you choose for the rest on the front

I think you really need to use a med to darker gray color for all the trim, because, someone didnt take the brick into consideration when they put the charcoal roof on it. The roof and the brick, do not go well together. A brown roof would have made a huge difference in the look of your house. But, whats done is done, so use a gray that goes well with the roof, and hopefully tie it all together.

Everyone in Maine has a storm door.

Storm doors are meant for more than just door protection. They have screens, that let in fresh air, and keep bugs out, and they let light into the house, when the exterior doors are open. I would never be without a storm door on every door in my house. If they are good quality storm doors, with good quality weather stripping, the main door can be left open to allow light in, even in colder winter weather.

Grey colors (SW iron ore) do not look good with the windows in the back which is part of the problem we are running into.

I’m in WI and love my storm doors! They let in light in the winter and I can have the windows open. . The one on the front door is not the best, but it’s there and I open the front door to let the light I . we’ve replaced the other one in our house with Andersen door and I can keep it open even on some winter days!

Well, you're right that SW Griffin doesn't blend well next to the garage door. It's rather dark. A lighter brown or a color similar to your siding shade might be something to consider.

I agree, dark brown would be a much better option. That would have been my first choice, if you didnt have the charcoal colored roof, that doesnt go with the brick. The roof should have also been a dark brown. If you ever need to replace it, consider the dark brown standard type shingles. The architectual shingles you have now, make everything look way too busy, and the the roof and the brick fight with one another. Maybe just leave trim the color it is, is the best for right now.

I usually like lighter colors for trim but in your case am thinking that a darker color would look better. So perhaps the Griffin would be a good choice. Will suggest that you keep the trim all one color so your home doesn't start to look like a patchwork.
