We need to see the spaces together in one shot/ IMO too much white already .

it's a lot of white and too bulky as @la_la Girl shows a lighter weight stool, choose something with a lower back to fit under the countertop. and a bit of contrast, something natural, for sure, rattan, or leather for a different texture.

Agree with the too much white comments. And, yes, need to see the whole space. My first reaction to seat covers for dining chair is to have a print to add texture. The print should incorporate all the colors you have - white/grey/pale blue? of backsplash. I also like the suggestion of using light maple color for new table & chairs. That wood color would add warmth & can easily be added to kitchen with a same wood color bowl or cutting boards on counters.

For those saying to swap the stools, that can’t happen. They were expensive & changing them isn’t in the budget right now 😁

Can be other white chair style less heavy looking such as below while coordinating with your stools.

Add pair of pale blue panels to slider wall. Hung higher than and wider than the slider. You have enough stack back space and the fabric will make a nice look.

Looking at your flooring - if you could find a close match for wood of table & chairs it would look great. The maple would too but I’d be keeping an eye out for a close tonal match. I still like my idea of print fabric for chair seats to incorporate all the existing colors. It’s a pretty space you have.

The issue is the stools they are way too heavy looking in that samll space but now the chairs have to have some substance too so I agree a nice wood not too bulky but the wood color will help balance out those heavy stools

I like the suggestions for a wood table combined with a lighter-looking white chair like the one suggested by @Kendrah.

To balance the white kitchen with the dining room furniture, add a couple wood or rattan accents to the kitchen - a rattan/wood bowl/vase to replace the metal flower bucket on the island, wood salt & pepper mills, 1-2 wood cutting boards of different sizes leaning against the beautiful tile backsplash, etc.

Is there a light fixture in the dining space?

Is it possible to sell the island chairs so you can replace them with something lighter-looking with a low back?

Thank you Design Fan! Yes, there will be a light fixture. I’ve been trying to find the right table/chairs for so long, my spouse got tired of walking into the light & removed it lol! It was a burlap pendant….will probably get replaced. I have a few tables on order as well as some chairs (all selected based on the helpful comments in this post). I’m a visual person so I wanted to see some options 🤷‍♀️ I will 100% add some warmer wood tones into the kitchen too once the table & chairs are selected. It’s funny to hear the comments about my space looking like a “sea of white” b/c I don’t think it feels like that in person. Our walls are a soft coastal green, the blue backsplash adds a nice pop of color & the stairs adjacent to the dining/kitchen space are the same blue. We also have color in the entry rug (entryway leads into the dining space) & some colorful art that adds in a lot of visual interest. I do love a healthy amount of white (feels relaxing to me)…but paired with soft, coastal colors! I’ve tried to carefully select where to add that color in so that it doesn’t look like we live in a teenager’s bedroom lol! My bad on not capturing a full 360….I tried to focus in on the area that I was questioning in my pics. I do appreciate everyone’s helpful thoughts though….good guidance as I knew I wanted more wood tones to add warmth & an earthy element, but wasn’t sure how to do it.
