My experience is that they will spread, but not so aggressively that you can't keep them in check. Pull up the extras once or twice a year and you'll be fine. Fail to keep them in line and they'll be all over your lawn.

My experience is that they are hugely aggressive. I grew them as a ornamental (I think the tubers are very bland testing). A 1G container took over an entire planting bed in two seasons!! The tubers spread everywhere and I had to pretty much dig up the entire bed to get rid of them!! Some sources even consider them to be invasive due to the aggressiveness of their spread and their ability to colonize other native plantings.

If you do decide to plant, allow plenty of room for them to spread........because they will!! Also easier to harvest if nothing else "valuable" around.
