Wow! Home Depot Roses ♡♡

I ordered some roses from Home Depot. 2 were 3 gallon pot and 2 were in 2 gallon pots. Shipping was free. I wasn't sure what to expect but I am impressed!

OK i just looked up the 2 gallon Peach Swirls. They were $32.98. What a bargain, especially nowdays. If you search on HD's website for Vigro Roses, you will find them. They have added a few new varieties since I ordered these. So they may end up with a good selection.

    Sultry,

I've gotten great quality roses from Home Depot Online. I go to Home Depot first to see if they sell the rose I am after. They are pretty much right there with the newest introductions, at remarkably low prices, and free shipping.

I hope all your new roses exceed your expectations. I particularly like Tangerine Skies. Its flower form and color really appeal to me.

Can you post a photo of your Gazebo when its completed? Would like to see what style and size it is.

    Moses.

I was surprised to read HD has 3 gallon TS for sale, shipped to NJ, so I went to their website.

Delivery in 3 days (it’s 9:45P here now); ”4,985 available”.

    !

I wonder who their grower is.

    Rifis,

I hope they pick the biggest, most vigorous bush of the 4985 to send to you! My 3 gal. Brindabella Purple Prince was huge, lots of buds. It got planted today. The weight of the box it came in had to be 8-9 lbs., heavy from a good drink before they boxed it up. I cannot imagine the freight charge the grower had to pay USPS, and it came free shipping to me.

I’ve been very pleased, too - I’ve received 3 roses and 1 hydrangea and they’ve all been large and looked excellent upon arrival.

Thank you, Moses, for your good wishes, but I am not ordering one. I looked just to look. I have enough problems figuring out what will become of my collection of now containerized Raspberry Cupcake roses. https://www.houzz.com/discussions/6560556/this-rose-seller-did-the-right-thing

There's room in the ground for maybe 1 or 2 tops, if I move some daylillies. Not that I wouldn’t like another TS; there’s no room.

I used to grow daylilies years ago, Rifis. What bothered me about them was the eyesore of their foliage after the blooming period was finished. So many varieties have rot genes, like Oriental poppies, after they're done blooming.....foliage rotting away. A clump just sitting there of ratty-looking, weedy, grassy-looking foliage for the rest of the summer put me off on them. A big clump of ugliness right among other lavishly blooming perennials, is not for my small garden, where every plant has to count.

And then, the flower only lasting a day, with half bloomed out scapes looking like goats got to them, flowers facing any which way, mostly away, etc.,......why bother with them. There are so many other perennials that have good looks before, during, and after their bloom cycles. My love affair with daylilies was short lived!

Moses, I only grow the orginal daylies. They call them ditch lilies now. They are the orginal orange and look good all season.

Moses, I have only a couple of daylilies and I can see your point. I do cut the ratty foliage back after bloom and new foliage grows back in and looks better. But I am curious since I too have a small garden and have to make each plant count, what plants would you feel replace a daylily with more all season performance?
