I didn’t see too much in the way of recipes that were unique or unusual for the way I cook and entertain, BUT their presentation is inspirational. I’m sure I’ll look at it again for ideas. Thanks for posting. eta, I meant to mention the gorgeous veggie platters. So many gatherings I’ve been to where people show up with a Costco veggie tray. Nothing about those tempts me at all.

Thanks Annie. These days it is very rare for any company to be so transparent about their offerings. From catering companies and restaurants to fast food it's annoying to have to "start order" or make a appointment to see what is offered. There are plenty of good ideas on this website that could be helpful to someone wondering what to fix or bring or even order from their local providers.

I like the veggie platters. I just read that fresh peas were considered a delicacy at the French court -- served raw or barely blanched. IDK how you'd present those as appetizers.

It might be like fruitcake, there have only been a few made and people keep passing them around? Since no one ever opens and partakes, they may be petrified by now.

I always blanch (pun intended) when people volunteer to bring a veggie tray. They can be a delight, but rarely are they up to snuff (the veggies that it, sometimes the people too though). I get that not everyone can cook, or likes to, or is able to, but you can still make a better contribution than supermarket platters.

Thanks! It does provide some inspiration and leads to some other thoughts about what to serve when you are stuck for ideas. We belong to a supper club with 3 other couples we know well. It’s hard to come up with ideas that either we have not already done or one of the other hosts has recently done. One member eats nothing ’on the hoof’ so no beef or lamb.

I lived in Darien for ten years and used to go to Palmers all the time. Great family-run business.
