Doing an exterior paint refresh - need some help!

My wife and I are in the process of getting our repainted next month. We live in an HOA community so we can't get too wild (and we really don't want to) but want to freshen up the exterior look of our house. We like earth tones and all our windows are trimmed in a light tan trim so it must be a color combination that compliments the beige window vinyl. We've been playing with some online tools but haven't been able to settle on anything we feel strongly about. We're leaning towards the Quiver Tan/Softer Tan/Wine Country palette. Any additional suggestions would be VERY welcome!

I would pick a color similar to the color in the gables right now, and paint the gables and all the other siding the same color. It looks way to busy right now. You could also pick a color from the brick, or stone, that is on the front, and use it for all the gables and all the siding. Your brick or stone, decides which color to use. You have a brownish roof, that doesnt go with the colors on the house right now too.

Agree. Also, if in the budget and HOA approved, consider a garage door with windows across the top.

I agree with cat above about the choppy-ness. One thing he/she didn’t mention - the shutters. They seem extraneous to me; I’d lean toward taking them off but they’re not overly obnoxious on your house. Maybe painted a less look-at-me color, they’d be better.

I would try something without the yellow undertones of your samples.

Balanced Beige or Accessible Beige seem to bridge the gap between the tan/gray roof and the reddish stone.

Sherwin Williams ColorSnap visualizer lets you upload a photo of your house and "paint" it using their colors.

I think you're going in the right direction if you use Softer Tan on the body, Quiver Tan on the shutters if you retain them, and Wine Country on the front door. I agree with the other commenters that there are too many colors right now, so do the gables and body the same color. The current color of the gables looks good. They look lighter than Softer Tan, but I would think about going in that direction if Softer Tan doesn't pan out. Be sure to put up some large sample boards outside before committing.

I dont mind the shutters, but, I really dislike the color of them. I guess, I assumed they would be repainted once the house was repainted, since they have to come down for the house to be painted anyway. Once they are down, and house is repainted, you can judge for yourself, whether you like the house better with shutters, or without. If you really want them back, then pick a new color for them, that will go with the new paint on the house.
