Seeking ideas for bedroom curtains

last year
last modified: last year

Hello I am trying to decide on curtains for our bedroom. I am thinking of maybe white with some green or gold designs or just plain olive green or forest green or all yellow gold. Please share what you think. The house is mid century modern and I like a blend of the old and new in overall design. The desk is temporary as we are currently into renovations and lacking space / storage. I am open to other design ideas in general as well. Thank you

Do you plan on adding other bits of green or gold to the room? If not, I would do a warm white or crean panel with linen like texture to keep with the nice neutral palette you have going on now.

Do you plan on adding bedside tables and lamps?

This graphic gives good advice about fullness, height, etc. The pooling advice is a little dated, everything else is spot on.

Thank you! Yes, I will have some gold frames. Not sure yes but I could add green items if needed. Much is up in the air.

We all understand reno, but right now I think this is the least of the problems?

Find some inspo pics of bedrooms you love, and note that windows are best kept neutral.

What is the flooring, the furniture? Nobody can tell from your pics.

You never do a curtain first.......: )

I think we need a ton more info. Why green and gold ? I usually start a different bedroom decor with the bedding it is chosen for color , style etc and that drives many other choice including drapes . All I see right now is a mess and I see no reason for gold and green . I woud wait until the stuff in there now is gone back where it belongs . The show us the whole room with whatever you want for bedding.

What you have now completes the look you have going. White on white on white....

Are you thinking new bedding? Side tables? I would pull your favorite color from the bedding and put it on the drapes. I would look for wood tone side tables that are the same tone as the ceiling, unless the floor mimics it already. Rugs/carpet is nice in bedrooms for comfort and warmth on bare feet. You'll need to consider any colors in the flooring when choosing new color scheme.

I have a hardwood floor and I am happy with my white bedding and white bedroom set. I was thinking to add some gold in the room whether it be picture frames or other. I have some green plants. Thank you for the photos! That helped me realize maybe I don't want so much green afterall.

Do save window covering choice for the last finishing touch.
If you like the mid century style take some time to check out vintage barkcloth patterns.
Perhaps a vibrant atomic print is all you need to spark up the vibe.
Otherwise, for lasting versatility neutral hues can make an eye soothing backdrop.
A minor consideration but worth a thought is the direction window is facing, and the quality of morning sunlight entering your sanctuary.
Another consideration is ease of opening and closing the curtains.
