This time of year, I can't tend my plants without being swarmed by sweat bees. I don't want to harm them, but I sure do want them to leave me alone!

I hoped they might be attracted to Gatorade (because it replaces electrolytes lost by sweating), so I spilled a puddle of it on concrete about three feet away, but they ignored it. Now I'm wondering whether they're attracted by sweat as such, or if they detect me (perhaps by the carbon dioxide in my breath), and then they start looking for sweat. They're small enough that I suppose they might be able to make use of even just enough sweat to make my skin slightly damp.

Any ideas?
