Dining Room Walls Help!

I'm having a hard time figuring out how to decorate/design my dining room. I've included a photo of the blank dining room (the picture on the wall is not staying). The table and chairs are staying. Definitely open to a new light above the table. I welcome all ideas that include pictures, wallpaper, curtains ... really any design elements. I've included photos of the other parts of my house to get an idea of my style. Thank you in advance!

Photos below are other parts of my home

Can you not just lower the light? It looks cool to me.

Install drapery panels in a colour that coordinates with your decor. You seem to have space for a buffet on the right but your picture is hung much too high. On the left wall you can do a gallery wall. Replace the a semi-flush lighting fixture with a chandelier andinstall it at 30"-32" inches above the table top.

Stay true to the scandi contemporary design of the rest of your home. Here are a few suggestions:

A minimal rug under the table in neutral colors. I like the one in this photo. The bars of color in it echo your rectangular fireplace and kitchen tile.

Hang sheer curtains with the rod mounted all the way up where the ceiling meets the wall, as in the two photos below.

On the 12 foot wall, center on the table two large, mimimal pieces of art of identical size. Minimal colors. Frame with wood frames the same tone as your floor, as in this photo. As I assume you know, the pic you have hanging now is way too high. You want the center of the artwork to be at about your own eye level.

Get a light fixture that hangs down from the ceiling above the table. (What you currently have is a flush mount and it is too high.) So many to choose from, but be sure it reaches outward so the whole table is lit as this looks like the only lighting source in the room. Think of it as a third piece of art in the room.

Unless you need a buffet for storage or serving, I would not put one in here. I like this space more minimal.

Do you have room to place your chairs three across from three on a daily basis and then move the extra two to the ends when entertaining? The position they are in now hides your great table legs and makes the beautiful wood top harder to see.

@Kendrah Great suggestions! love the sheer curtains with the rod going to the edge of the walls. Art on the 12 ft wall is a must. i was going to mix and match art but that might appear to busy. the picture is not staying as stated in my original post. Agree the light does not fit the size of the table and need something bigger. @lisedv @BeverlyFLADeziner i like the idea of a small buffet table on the right. At one point i was considering wallpaper for either the 12 foot wall only OR the wall surrounding the window. Was just trying to get an interesting element in the room. All Great ideas ... thank you!

Why not try some artwork, plants, a console table, an updated chandelier, and perhaps a rug. Below are a few images of a dining room we designed which might help you more.

If you want a gallery wall, we did one where they are the "linear" type in one row as posted by Betty and it is such a nice change of pace.
