Office dilemma! HELP!

Office Design Brief

Room context
• This office is actually our den, located immediately to the right when you walk in the front door.
• It currently has double doors, but I’d like to replace them. Sliding doors (that don’t take up wall space outside) are preferred, though I’m open to stylish barn doors if they fit.
• The room is rectangular with very tall walls and a vaulted ceiling. One wall is directly across from a window, which brings in good natural light.

Style
• Transitional (a mix of classic + modern).
• Clean, organized, professional but still warm and welcoming.

Main needs
1. Work from home functionality
• I’m on virtual meetings and trainings daily. I’d like my background to be polished and aesthetically pleasing.
• Built-in or shelving-style backdrop is appealing.
• Desk positioning should work well with natural light from the window.
2. Storage & organization
• Storage for work/company items (swag, supplies, files).
• Pullout drawers or hidden storage to keep clutter away.
• Space for crafting supplies as well.
3. Comfort
• A couch or chaise for reading, breaks, or a cozy spot for family.

Wish list
• New doors (sliding or barn-style).
• Built-in shelving or cabinetry on tall wall for visual impact and storage.
• Desk + seating arrangement that makes the best use of light and space.
• Organization solutions that keep the room clean but functional.
• A design that feels intentional and stylish for a front-of-house office.
