Yes, I have done that for years. I read it on here about someone up north doing that with trash trees. It has to be done as soon as cut down. I bought a cheap condiment container and labeled poison. You can also use a cheap paintbrush.

I've been doing that for years too. For small jobs or more upper branch stuff I often use a jar with the stuff and a paintbrush. If I need to do a lot, I have a small dollar store pump pressure spray bottle. It has an adjustable nozzle and I set it to stream to target zap stuff. I cut, poison, move to next cut, poison.

I've also found it can work a bit better later on in the summer as it's turning to fall to do this. Just as the plants leaves are starting to drop and the plant is withdrawing more to it's roots for sleep. A cut and poison then they suck it right up and then winter hits them.
