a round up trick

last year

first let me say that using herbicides is a last resort saved for things like poison oak or ivy. if my wife just looks at them she blisters up. i've tried things like cutting the bottom out of small plastic bakery buckets & putting over the targeted plant to protect surrounding plants & a few other things & a landscaper shared this. i always buy generic roundup concentrate at a local feed store. much cheaper than the premixed version. what this guy told me is that if you cut an unwanted plant just above the ground you can hit the stump with undiluted concentrate. i tried it & it works so you'll have minimal effect on the environment. i always have volunteer walnut, catalpa, redbud, & mulberry trees & pokeweed popping up that were spread by birds or squirrels.
