This looks like a serious do over. None of the seams are remotely aligned and the herringbone shifts across the niche. What edge trim pieces did you intend to be used here?

That is bad. The only thing likely worse is the insufficient waterproofing underneath.

Either way, it’s on your GC to rip all that out and redo it with someone qualified. Qualified is not the lowest priced guy.

Kendrah, I have no clue what the tile guy intended to put for trim, he was not at all familiar with Schluter trim so I would be guessing if I said what he did intend.

HU-71233175, there is RedGard underneath there, maybe the lighting throws off everything in the pics, but as far as the GC goes, he left the job when I asked he and his tile guy to pause so we could discuss next steps because I saw things starting to go south with the work. The tile guy also didn't clean as he went so there was dried cement all over the front of the tiles, that took me several days of elbow grease to safely get off. Both my husband and I did my mother's shower/tub and we just didn't have time to get this one done, so we chose to contract it out. Yes we are kicking ourselves.

Red Guard is the Red Flag of Incompetency. That usually means a PVC pan liner flat on the floor, and draped over the curb, with screws in in it. And insufficient mil thickness on any membrane that they did paint on. Usually just the seams and the screw holes, because they can't read directions.

Any tile setter that says they use Red Guard should be viewed with high suspicion, and as soon as any of the above happens, you throw them off the job. Before you get to that ^ stage.
