Idle chatter…..the engagement ring

I'm curious about the wedding band that can accompany this style ring?

Whatever the bride wants! My son designed the ring he gave his wife. He didn't think to have it mesh with a band. Looking at options she decided to go without one. She used her 'engagement' ring as her wedding ring at the ceremony. She wondered what people would think. I did some googling and found many brides where choosing this option. Now my daughter is engaged and she also will have this challenge also. Only the engagement ring was purchased due to her intendeds focus on individualizing her ring. If she were still working in a lab should would opt to not wear her engagement ring to work and just get a simple band as that would work best with the gloves. The intertwined wedding set is a fashion much like long skirts or short. I think it's popularity is waning. I think I would go with a super thin band that would nestle under the stone so the two could be welded. I don't think I would like one twisting on my finger differently from the other?

Ya know....the circle I travel in....women wear different wedding rings as they please. They don't stick with the one given to them. I wonder if Taylor will come up with a new matched set for the wedding? That would be kind of cool. Then put this one away as a keepsake. I wonder who she's chosen to design her wedding dress? Any news?

How do you wear a wedding band with that? I have to honestly say I am not a fan of that ring. I do like the two if them, though.

She could mimic the 3 bands that Kate Middleton wears: The large sapphire which was Diana's engagement ring, the gold wedding band made from traditional Welsh gold and the latest is a diamond eternity band that she received when Prince George was born.

There are photos of her wearing all 3 at the same time but you need a close-up to see the thinner bands.

My mother only wears her somewhat chunky engagement ring. No band. She was married ro my stepfather (2nd marriage) with the diamond ring and has never had a seprate wedding band.

Plain narrow band or a ”wrap” that goes on both sides. Usually just one plain band.

Maire, yes I see how that would work. I love Diana’s ring. If I win the Powerball, Ill get one just like it.

I don't find that ring especially stunning on her hand - but certainly admit it could be the photo too. Of course just having him design it, present it gives it utmost importance to her. Maybe the jeweler already had something in mind for a wrap around type wedding band. A local jeweler in our small town joined mine together decades ago so they wouldn't rub and wear against each other. The two bands on my finger underside would have still been more narrow than pleased him and he added a lot of gold, making it wide and thick for comfort and longevity. He didn't charge me anything at all. I might add that not only was he generous and well known, he was in the habit of drinking cocktails with his lunch. He walked down the street and handed me the ring, finished, at the office where I was working at the time. In giving it to me he noticed he had slightly loosened the main stone in what was the engagement ring while working on it. Took it back and corrected it then returned it to me later that day. Life in a small town 😊

I also noticed she's wearing a Cartier watch. It's stunning!!!!! (I've been watch shopping. My dive watch fell into pieces on my last dive in Sulawesi). Wish I felt so FREE...to just go buy anything. Last night I did make a purchase. A Tag Heuer. More appropriate for what I'd use it for.

Either no band or else a custom designed curved band or wrap. I tried on some wraps while my rings were getting inspected and cleaned, and I liked the look. I have a 3-stone so in general I find less is more with the wedding bands and the wraps. My wedding (platinum) and 10 year (rose gold) bands are thin. Hey 20 is next year so maybe one of the wraps will show up. 😊They put the model numbers on our account. The one is available in white gold and platinum but the other was just white gold only.

I skipped the wedding band and only use my engagement ring as my wedding ring as well. I love it and don't have a need for multiple rings. I'm also comfortable not wearing a ring when the engagement ring feels like too much. (Unsurprisingly my ring isn't nearly the size of this one pictured.)

My engagement ring was a diamond on wide woven textured band. Added a small diamond band about 8yrs later. We are on year 44, so it has been changed since then.

I am not fond of her ring setting, and the watch takes away from the ring in cropped photos.. If she just had to wear the/a watch, it could have been worn on her right arm. Being left handed, I wear watches on my right. Nicole, it is a discontinued design..
