I cannot see the lighting but that is how you brighten a space no cabinets installed so who knows what this will look like after it is all done.That space look tiny but maybe just camera angle , Why the curve at all in fact just the width of the hood is all you needed but I see no range so what the heck is going on here you have a hood no cooking appliance ???? Your uppers are way to close to the counter wher eis your designer in this issue.

Don't jump the gun yet. A lot of people feel a bit of panic when they see their kitchen at this stage and they want to start changing things.

There are a number of factors that make this space feel small. I think your backsplash is only one of them. A small space with a dark line of contrasting countertop all the way around; uppers that come WAY too low to the counter; the design itself - you made the look of a grand sweeping custom huge hood - a look that goes in a giant kitchen. But you are really making a smaller, more apartment sized kitchen here that happens to dwell in a big new build. The cabinets to the left in the corner look cramped and hard to access.

Can you show the drawings for this whole kitchen space. So we can better understand what is happening here?

I presume this is where the 30" gas cooktop goes.

Why the uppers so low?

Are these all going to be open shelves and not cabinets?

The soapstone and cabinet color is gorgeous.

I'd lighten up the walls and floor. Once you settle in you'll love it.

Great for the prep kitchen, but I'd lighten up you other rooms to off set your feelings.
