Help with tricky backsplash transition

I am using a rectangular 2x6 subway tile. my original plan was to miter the tiles to wrap the window. the window sill stone ended up about an inch higher. wondering how best to handle that bottom row of tile where it will meet the raised counter of the window. I am also considering just using a wood casing and molding but due to the light switch i only have room for about 3 inch molding which seems a little small for this substantial window. i have 4.5” trim on the other windows and doors in this area. ideas ive had include using a 1 inch row on the bottom and then starting the miter on row two. or mitering the first row tile and having it meet a half tile and using a return miter on the bottom half of that first tile. hoping someone has encountered this before!

Do you have the tile on hand so you could take a pic of it leaning on wall next to window sill stone? I understand what you’re describing but challenged with the visual. A pic of the other windows you have would help too. Can we see the sink that I think is in front of this window? Stand back & take pic of entire window & sill.

Yep heres what im working with. I realize this is a super small detail but im not sure i can take that end tile staring at me everytime i do dishes.

Do you have tile trim pieces or will you have other areas needing trim, like wherever you are planning to end the tile? I think some profile of Schluter trim should be able to solve this. But not everyone likes the look.

It’s not a small detail at all.

Just to clarify, you are planning to do this with a mitered corner, correct? And you are in this situation because your tile maker does not make bullnose or trim tile? Have you looked? Also, have you worked enough with this tile to be able to know how good a miter you can get? Not all tile handles the same. If you have a crumbly body, you need to consider using a different tile.

Step #1 is to move your tile on the kitchen facing wall to overlap the tile on the window wall. You will use a cut tile on top of the stone sill, and use a return miter that is only as thick as the tile to finish the miter on the rest of that wall tile - does that make sense?

This is very delicate work, expect a fair amount or wastage.
