Nailfin means new interior trims and stucco repairs. I don’t know if that’s in the higher quote or will that be additional expense. With stucco you might find additional damage in that process. Retrofit is far less worse but relies on the current window still being sound and correctly installed.

Thank you, yes it is double the cost because of the stucco work. It would be great to save with retrofit but im wondering if it would be noticable and devalue my home

How are the existing openings? If you don't have a history or window leaks where they tie into the walls, a retrofit application is fine.

If the existing openings are sound, retro is the way to go. No reason to disturb stucco that is not an issue currently
