I'm not sure I can comment without hurting your feelings, so I won't.

My friend lives in a desert climate and has a gorgeous garden using a lot of rocks and stones. What makes it exceptional is that she uses rocks of different sizes, textures and colors to define different planting areas, with larger stones used to define edges and large boulders placed throughout. The garden is planted with a variety of drought tolerant plants, including many Mediterranean plants. It attracts a lot of birds and other wildlife. It's a stunning garden.

Where in the world are you?

A rock garden featuring gravel is a bit odd. As someone else asked, did you have a specific look in mind?

I think the mini retaining wall across the middle would look better if it was either straight or curved, right now it looks a bit wiggly. Even better would be if you could replace it with landscape boulders IMO.

If you do boulders they would look best if similar color to the gravel and submerged a little so they look natural. Heres how we did ours.

Creeping Rosemary and Creeping Thyme planted along the retaining wall would cascade down and cover the wall for a natural look. Add some large boulders in groups in the flat areas and plant among them and behind them to accent the boulders as focal points.

It desperately needs plants. Planted up, it should look great.
