There is SZ, if you want 20+ years of reliability, and the ability to integrate them into the cabinets seamlessly. There's Thermador, if you want a step down. There's the bottom of the barrel Frigidaire/Electrolux that has had nothing but problems since their Covid era redesign, and has more than doubled in price. While you can buy 3 sets of Frigidaire for the price of the SZ, you will buy 3+ sets vs the longevity and superior cooling and appearance of the SZ.

I'd go SZ and choose a 36" induction range. Wolf and Miele have good versions. A 48" gas range gets a 54" hood and a substantial makeup air setup. Include those in your cost analysis.

If you can’t afford SZ, then take separates off of your list. Take off all the rest of the big range and acre kitchen too.The prices all just went up. Keep what you have and be glad you’ve got it.

In CR's tests, the Bosch B36CT80SNS 36" counter-depth refrigerator did reasonably well, owners like it, and the Bosch refrigerators are fairly reliable based on survey data.

Are you wanting a built-in fridge or a counter depth freestanding? Either will leave you wanting more fridge space. If you get a 36" full depth freestanding you will have a lot of space. They're relatively inexpensive compared with a built-in. I have a nine year old 36' freestanding LG FD at one house that's been great. I just invested in new cabinetry and a 36' SZ at a different house. Big investment but it was the only solution that would fit my space adjacent to an angled pantry wall and allow the doors and drawers to open fully. Plus the build quality and reliability are superb.

Based on your latest post it sounds like you've now decided on SZ - just not sure about SxS or columns.
