The ceiling electrical box appears to be centered on the sliding door and far enough away from the sliding door to allow space for a chair between a table and door. My design book recommends 32" between the edge of the table and a wall (or in your case a sliding door) for the chair to be slid back for convenient entering and exiting.

Well that's interesting and good advice. It doesn't address the lighting question.

It looks like your ceiling is textured, otherwise I'd say you could move the electrical box to be over the table. (You could still move it, but a patch on the ceiling would probably not match.)

You could consider a light on a chain for over the table, and make the chain long enough so that you could swag it to a hook centered over the table. I know that's not everyone's favorite look, but it gives you some flexibility (as a hook is easier to move than an electrical box, should you swap out or move the table.)

No drop lights over the island. Your space is really too small for an island, but there it is. I wouldn't highlight the busyness by adding pendants into the space. Do recessed lights for the whole kitchen. And a swag for over the table as suggested below.
