Paint color for walls or cabinets or both? Cabinets don't look great with that floor which I assume is new? I would look at light countertops with not much movement because the floor and cabinets are busy.

    Whatever would help.

What about something like this and painting your cabinets blue.

Find a creamy white countertop that is solid color, no movement or flecks. Color match wall paint to the creamy white countertops. Chrome hardware. This scheme is simple and will unify the backdrop for these two different wood tones.

Don't paint these cabinets. They won't look great because the wood grain will show through. Get a stain pen and do some touch ups on the cabinets.

Remove the triangular trim piece above the sink. Add a nice light there.

Thank you everyone. Would anyone have a tip on how I could possibly stain over the cabinets to get more of a brown color and tone down the red/orange color?

Stain needs to penetrate the wood, and it cannot do that when the wood is already stained and varnished or poly on it. You might be able to use a gel stain, but, I have never seen anyone get good results with that. I wouldnt paint it either because, you have a lot of graining in your cabinet. I would put a long rug in front of the cabinets, so the flooring is further away from them, and just leave it alone. Touch up with a stain pen, any thing that needs touching up.

There are gel stains that work without sanding. I remember someone here posting a great result doing that. You could get a product to try and sample it on the inside of the doors, to see if it works and you like it. I don't have experience with this product, but it says it's for use without sanding...I'm sure there are others. https://www.amazon.com/Stain-Topcoat-Sanding-Required-Walnut/dp/B0BG61GD9V?th=1

I wouldn't spend too much money on the cabinets, because I'd want to replace them someday to get more drawers. (You might love them and if so ignore that!) I like the idea of a rug and a stain pen. Also, when I saw your title, the first thing that popped into my mind was The Big Lebowski.

is this a prep to sell or recently purchased for your use. the brown of the oak cabinets is one of the nicer tones for that species. The floor does not work in my opinion and its not attractive regardless, so I'd rather replace floor but then if you recently installed the floor thats an issue . I'd much prefer the green counter to stay w the oak cabinets as they currently are, in other words. it just depends on the reasons for doing things in the first place and what you have for a budget.

If the floor isn’t going to change, consider painting all the baseboards and trim a soft white that better compliments the floor. I would save up to replace the cabinets when you can.

Your floor is fine; it just doesn't really complement the brown in the cabinets. If you can change the tone in the cabinets, both will look better.
