Chapter 2-Doing neutrals right

As you may know, I love color and pattern. However, many of you do not, and prefer a neutral palette. Which is absolutely fine. The problem is if it isn't done with care, it can fall flat.

In Chapter 1, I posted an article from House & Garden UK about a home in Provence that was done in neutrals to perfection:

Here is a home in London designed by Rose Uniack, a champion of the neutral palette, that is just scrumptious. Save for a few pale pastels and that smashing dark blue library, everything is ivory, beige, brown, greige. Again, note the use of texture, greenery, rustic woods, reclaimed brick, and beautifully proportioned millwork that make it interesting and multi-dimensional, while still imparting an inviting and warm feel.
