Good Lord Finn!

Holy Moly!
He's 9 months old now, & a healthy SEVENTY lbs.!!! Took this pic this afternoon. I think it's a good shot. People stop & comment about him on walks, from their cars, etc.
I think he's handsome too, but....wow! Maybe I should call some movie producers! 😁🤪🤔

    Hi all!!

Ya....Finn is a "Rough Collie"...aka the old "Lassie" breed. It's the official AKC Breed-name. The other 2 breed-names are the "Bearded", & "Smooth" I believe.

He's beautiful. I love big dogs with soft, long coats. We live with Australian Shepherds.

Oh my heart….he is a beauty. Like seagrass, we have Aussies and one is a ”black tri” like your Finn.. my favorite coloring. We all love pooch pics, so now you might pup in , uh, pop in more often.😁

    "Pupp-ing" in, as Martinca suggested!

Late this summer. Notice the crossy-paws!

Upside-down Goofball this summer! Loves chilling by the a/c vents....

    And this spring, a littler Pup-tato! 🥰😇

Lastly.....this one may be "too much" for some of you. Little Finn, on his first day here this early April, at 3 month's old! 🥰🥰🥰

I love the crossed paws. So ladylike. It is nice to see a different breed for a change. All I see are golden, bulldogs and corgis. A reminder there are so many beautiful breeds.

Just concentrate on developing these attributes and women will love you, too:

"Rough Collies are known for their gentle, loyal, and affectionate temperament. They are intelligent and responsive, thriving on companionship and often getting along well with children and other animals."

    Good luck!

Haha, Oly. As for seeing more Collies, be careful what you wish for. As a breed

becomes more in demand backyard breeding explodes degrading the look and health of the breed. Wise Australian Shepherd owners fought their breeds inclusion into thr AKC. Their popularity grew, the tinkering began. Minerature Aussies are fine, although many …I just cannot look. I’d swear some were mated with pomeraniens. Ugh. Only the coloring is Aussie. Forgive the ot rant. Back to beautiful Fin .

As a child, my aunt gave me the book Lad a Dog, by Albert Payson Terhune. This began my love of collie’s. Having no say in my first dog, my father chose a little wirehaired terrior for our family. He was my adored constant companion for 16 years. But my desire for a collie never left. Marrying rather young …our ”first child” was a dog. My dh, a westerner, had grown up with a farm collie, also called an English collie. I’d never seen an Australian Shepherd , but dh was happy see his old collie in this new to us breed. This was many years ago! She, my “first child “ lived to be 18. Four fuzzy Aussies followed her.

On man, Faron, apologies! I did not mean to hijack or go on so long! Seeing your Finn …well, its all his fault.

One of our present Aussies , though smaller and not quite so glamorous as Finn , is also, a black tri and does resemble him a bit. Her red sister resembles dh’s collie the most. Dogs! I do love them!
