We have this one in our media room, but it is more modern looking. Smart sofa from Bracci. Leather or suede in many colors. We went with their pet/family friendly suede and I have been able to remove every stain so far.

How about a nice big upholstered cocktail table for the tootsies? Even one with a wood "rider" over it for a drink or snack? You can even have these custom made!

Why? Because when you do a recline sofa, ANY? YOU NEGATE THE COCKTAIL TABLE.

IMO no but if putting up your feet is the purpose get some nice ottomans . I like the idea Jan posted . Recliners limit coffee table placement , the mechanism can have issues , I guess in a space only made for TV they are alright but IMO never in a space where converstaional entertaining is the use .
