Hello. I know it won't be long before temperatures drop and yellow jackets die. But in the meantime, yellow jackets are getting into my basement through a closed window and flying around.

I want them gone yesterday. The nest is likely in the overhang shown in the photo. The bottom edge of the overhang is about 6" from the ground. I don't want to crawl under and feel around, whether it's day or night.

So I'm wondering if it would be feasible to hang plastic sheets around the overhang at night to somewhat seal off the area, and then throw a defogger through an opening in the sheets. If this sounds like a viable option, which defogger would your recommend?

If this isn't a good idea, what approach would you suggest? I had a professional come out and kill the yellow jackets at this location a couple of years ago. I didn't discover this year's nest until about a month ago.

If I just wait and let the yellow jackets die, is there anything I can do to prevent them from returning to this overhang in future years?
